Waffle House Win!
Since September, Waffle House servers organizing with the Union of Southern Service Workers have:
Formed a leadership committee to develop demands and built worksite committees at over 30 locations across the South
Launched demands on pay, safety and end to meal credit deduction actions across the South
Collected 13,000 signatures on a petition demanding an end to meal deductions and delivered the petition to corporate headquarters
Held strikes and actions around safety, pay and meal deductions
Filed a petition with the Department of Labor demanding a review of the Waffle House meal deductions
Today, they got a big win.
Thousands of workers across the South are receiving increases in the “single largest additional investment” in the workforce in the company’s 68-year-history–the CEO said. By the time the increases are fully implemented, the tipped wage floor will jump by about $3/hour, to $5.25.

That is ridiculous, how can anyone live on that amount of money? This is not 1965.
