Contact Congress/Attorneys General/Governors/State Legislators
Contact all senators to vote against Eric Bove as justice for the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He has directed the DOJ to ignore court rulings, ordered prosecutors to drop charges against NYC mayor, Eric Adams, and led a purge of career officials at the DOJ and FBI. The Senate Judiciary Committee already pushed him through and now it goes to the full Senate for a vote. It’s not too late to contact your senators here:

Say Something! Women Forward has action steps you can take to call or write your members of Congress (MoC) or local newspapers to raise awareness on how the big, ugly bill is affecting you. Demand that your senators and representatives do something about the lawless actions of ICE, save public radio, and stop weaponization of the DOJ. Tell your members of Congress to release the Epstein files now! The Trump regime is trying to bury the files and Mike Johnson just dismissed Congress early for summer break to prevent a vote to release them. What are they hiding? The Department of the Interior has proposed an 83% cut to Tribal college funding. If Congress signs off over $100 million will vanish, destroying institutions that provide higher education and cultural lifelines to Native communities. From the ACLU — DOGE is feeding our data to unvetted AI to surveil us and consolidating our data, putting us at massive risk of cyberattacks and misuse. It's a major violation of our privacy. Send a message here to your MoC and demand they stop DOGE from invading our privacy.
Alligator Alcatraz is an immigration detention facility built on swamp land that flooded soon after construction. Conditions inside are inhumane: immigrants are fed only once a day, and that food is often infested with maggots. The lights are kept on 24/7, there is no access to bathing, and extreme overcrowding worsens the suffering. To make matters worse, some Republican officials are profiting from this abuse by selling merchandise at the expense of detainees’ dignity. This is unacceptable. After the devastating floods in Texas which left people, including children, dead or missing — due in part to weakened warning systems caused by Trump-era cuts to NOAA and the National Weather Service — we must take action now. Democracy in Action: Summer Student Trainings, 9:30 AM–4:30 PM ET, in Washington, D.C. Phone Banking, Canvassing, Texting, and Postcard Writing
Silver Spring Progressive Action is hosting a phone bank to call Virginia voters on Monday, Aug. 4, 6:30–8 PM ET. We will be phone banking for Abigail Spanberger for governor and for a VA House Delegate. After all the harm caused by the Trump regime, it’s even more important than ever to make Virginia bluer. Virginia needs to expand their 51-49 Democratic majority in the House of Delegates and elect Abigail Spanberger governor to deliver a Democratic trifecta. Rescue Public Media, Adopt a Station. Congress has rescinded funding for public media. Help preserve independent journalism and community programming across America by adopting a station. Donate to your local station here.
Please consider donating. Silver Spring Progressive Action (SSPA) has two funds open now: Build Media that Tells the Truth — Fight Trumpian propaganda with a brave, bold, and honest information movement to reach voters where they are. Protect Democracy — Fight Trump in the courts and in the states. One hundred percent of the funds go to the organizations listed, none goes to SSPA.

Other Action Items
The 14th Amendment which allows, “No State shall … deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws,” is under attack by the Trump regime. Included is the protection of rights like due process of the law and birthright citizenship. However, we can fight back and protect it.
