In this newsletter, you’ll find ways to take action to resist the Trump administration’s unlawful actions against our government and to help protect our democracy.

Rallies:

1. June 14 is Trump’s birthday and he wants a massive military parade to celebrate it. Let’s show how we feel about him by joining the NO KINGS mass protest nationwide organized by Indivisible. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they have cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. Town Halls:

Here is information on People’s Town Halls where you can attend in person. Town Halls give you an opportunity to connect with neighbors, community leaders, and organizations to discuss the issues that are important to you.

Call/Write to Congress:

1. Beginning Tuesday, May 13, the House Energy & Commerce Committee will vote on a bill to slash Medicaid. Republicans are pushing $880 billion in health care cuts to fund tax breaks for the wealthy. We can help stop this by entering your ZIP code to see where your rep on the committee stands, and tell them: vote NO on Medicaid cuts.
   
   If you are represented by a Republican not on the committee, please call them now and tell them to vote NO on slashing Medicaid.

2. Email your lawmakers now and urge them to oppose efforts to claw back federal funding for public media and to support full funding moving forward.

3. Tell your members of Congress: 29 Million Americans Can't Afford Health Care—We Need Medicare for All. From People’s Action—29 million people in the U.S. can’t afford basic health care. In 2023, 18% of households aren’t sure they’ll have enough food to eat. Rent is up. Wages are stagnant. Congress needs to act. We're calling on our representatives to cosponsor Medicare for All. Let’s help build a future where no one has to fight with an insurance company or go into debt just to get the care they need. Write to your Representative here.

4. The USPS needs to remain independent of the Federal Government. Make your voice heard by writing to your U.S. representatives and senators urging them to cosponsor H. Res. 70 and S. Res. 147 to stand with the Postal Service and its dedicated workforce against the threat of privatization.

5. On May 28, 1-2 PM PT/4-5 PM ET! PDT, Indivisible Marin will offer Tips and Tools for Calling your Reps. Webinars/Events:

1. Field Team 6 is hosting a virtual event—Register Democrats Summit 2025, Thursday, May 22, 9–5 PM PT. It’s time to bring together a movement-wide coalition focused on registering Democrats across the country. 2. Join Rise For Freedom—Nationwide Rise For Freedom Training Series, on Thursdays starting May 8, 8-10 PM ET. Each training will include a mini-action for you to take to start building power, have breakout rooms to plan next steps, music, and more! The goal of each training is for you to feel empowered and equipped with the necessary tools to take action. This is a call for everyone interested in learning how to organize under advancing autocracy and mobilizing in this moment. Sign up here.

Phonebank/Canvassing/Texting:

1. Join Indivisible on Thursday, May 15, 11 AM ET, for a phonebank where we’ll be calling voters across North Carolina and connecting them directly to Sen. Thom Tillis' office. Together, we’ll urge him to oppose the Trump Tax Scam—a reckless GOP tax plan that prioritizes billionaires like Elon Musk while selling out working families. Sign up here.

2. Join Promote the Vote PA on various dates to make calls for the 2025 Municipal Primary Elections and help Democrats win in these elections. Sign up here.

3. Please join a virtual phone bank for Democrats to call North Carolina voters on various dates. It’s an opportunity to build power for the Democrats so we can flip North Carolina blue! Sign up here.

4. Canvass for Democrats and talk with voters in North Carolina in various counties. This is also a great opportunity to help flip North Carolina blue!

5. The SAVE Act, A GOP-backed bill, would make voter registration significantly more difficult for married women, transgender individuals, seniors, people with disabilities, and minorities. The legislation is aimed at addressing the largely unsubstantiated issue of noncitizen voting. While the bill has already passed in the House, it could still be blocked in the Senate if democratic members remain united.
   
   Common Cause will be hosting phone banks every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:30–7:30 PM ET or 6–8 PM ET, to call swing state voters and encourage them to urge their legislators to oppose the SAVE Act. Volunteers will have the opportunity to patch voters directly through to their lawmakers, allowing them to express their outrage and advocate against the legislation. 6. Grassroots Democrats, in partnership with the California Democrats, Team Pelosi, and the Los Angeles Democratic Party, are hosting the #HandsOff Our Health Care Phone Bank on Thursdays. Fifteen million Californians and 72 million Americans rely on Medicaid to get the care they need. They are mobilizing constituents in three battleground districts to fight against the Republicans who are attacking our health care. Please sign up here to join.

7. Join Black Voters Matter on Zoom every Tuesday, 6 PM ET, as they gather to drive change through digital organizing. Their texting campaigns will give you the opportunity to engage residents across the U.S. while empowering them to make a positive impact in their communities.
