Call your Representative
Republicans want to slash Medicaid, SNAP, early education, and other vital programs that working families rely on all to pay for tax cuts to billionaires like Elon Musk. They would do this with a process known as budget reconciliation which would allow this bill to pass with Republican votes only. Call your Republican rep now and tell them you do NOT want to pay for billionaires’ tax breaks and to keep these vital programs that are needed for us to survive! Fill out this form with your address and you’ll be connected with your Republican representative.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an immigrant who escaped threats of violence from gang members in El Salvador, was living in Maryland with his wife and kids. A few years back, an immigration judge granted him protection from deportation. But over a month ago, he was taken by ICE agents under the Trump administration and deported to a prison in El Salvador without due process—including being denied a fair and impartial hearing or trial to determine whether he was guilty of any gang-related activity. Immigration officials admitted it was an “administrative error” but refused to bring him back. Sadly, Kilmar isn’t the only immigrant kidnapped by the administration without receiving due process of the law.
Send an email to your members of Congress and demand that they do everything they can to end these unconstitutional disappearances and bring Kilmar and others back home.
From Jessica Craven, Chop Wood Carry Water, April 25 edition, Boycott products made in El Salvador.
Such products include clothing, mattresses, food and more, so check tags and packages and avoid buying those marked “Made in El Salvador.” Companies that manufacture in El Salvador include Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, Gildan, Diana, Capri, Indufoam, Bon Appetit, and many more. See her newsletter to contact these corporations and voice your dismay at their silence. A script is included (she has other action items you can take as well).
Note: Also boycott AVELO airlines who are assisting ICE by flying immigrants in shackles to El Salvador.
ActBlue has successfully supported Democratic campaigns and causes. Trump is going after ActBlue by demanding the DOJ to investigate it in order to knee cap its efforts. 5calls.org makes it easy for you to contact your members of Congress and demand that they speak out to stop the weaponization of the DOJ and end the unfounded attack on ActBlue. Script is provided.

The SAVE Act, A GOP-backed bill would make voter registration significantly more difficult for married women, transgender individuals, seniors, people with disabilities, and minorities. The legislation is aimed at addressing the largely unsubstantiated issue of non-citizen voting. While the bill has already passed in the House, it could still be blocked in the Senate if Democratic members remain united.
Common Cause will be hosting phone banks every Tuesday and Thursday from 6–8 PM ET to call swing state voters and encourage them to urge their legislators to oppose this bill. Volunteers will have the opportunity to patch voters directly through to their lawmakers, allowing them to express their outrage and advocate against the legislation. Training will be provided at the start of each shift. Sign up here.
