Welcome to our July 15 Midweek Edition of Action Alerts!
By Abbi Lichtenstein
Below are action items you can take to help fight the Trump regime. Please take one or more actions to help protect and strengthen our democracy.
When you see something that is not right, you must say something. You must do something. Democracy is not a state. It is an act, and each generation must do its part to help build what we called the Beloved Community, a nation and world society at peace with itself. Ordinary people with extraordinary vision can redeem the soul of America by getting in what I call good trouble, necessary trouble. — Rep. John Lewis, Farewell Letter

Tell your senators to vote NO on Trump’s rescission package and protect foreign aid, NPR, PBS, world hunger, HIV/AIDS prevention, and more. These funds have already been allocated and Trump and the GOP want to slash them. Contact your senators here:

By email: Congress.gov
By U.S. mail: SenatorsCongress is moving fast to pass two dangerously deceptive bills, the GENIUS Act and the CLARITY Act, that would hand over the future of our financial system to crypto billionaires and political con artists.
These bills are designed to deregulate stablecoins and shield crypto companies from basic accountability, opening the floodgates to scams, manipulation, and instability.
For more information about both acts and to contact your Member of Congress, click here.Alligator Alcatraz is an immigration detention facility built on swamp land that flooded soon after construction. Conditions inside are inhumane: immigrants are fed only once a day, and that food is often infested with maggots. The lights are kept on 24/7, there is no access to bathing, and extreme overcrowding worsens the suffering. To make matters worse, some Republican officials are profiting from this abuse by selling merchandise at the expense of detainees’ dignity. This is unacceptable. To learn more about the ongoing abuse and to take action by telling your Member of Congress to shut down Alligator Alcatraz, click here.
Contact your Republican Members of Congress and tell them you will hold them accountable for slashing Medicaid and SNAP! Contact information is here.
After the devastating floods in Texas which left people, including children, dead or missing — due in part to weakened warning systems caused by Trump-era cuts to NOAA and the National Weather Service — we must take action now. Use 5calls.org to urge your Members of Congress to fund U.S. Weather Prediction and Climate Science so future lives can be saved. Click here to contact your MoC.
Contact all senators to vote against Emil Bove as justice for the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He has directed the DOJ to ignore court rulings, ordered prosecutors to drop charges against NYC Mayor, Eric Adams, and led a purge of career officials at DOJ and the FBI. Here is contact information for reaching your senators:
