Welcome to our May 6 Midweek Edition of Action Alerts!
By Abbi Lichtenstein
May has arrived! This week you’ll find ways to take action to resist the Trump administration’s unlawful actions against our government and to help protect our democracy.
Rallies:
June 14 is Trump’s birthday and he wants a massive military parade to celebrate it. Let’s show how we feel about him by joining the No Kings mass protest nationwide organized by Indivisible. No Kings is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies. Find out more information here.
On May 9, 11 AM–2 PM ET, join AFSA (American Foreign Service Association) for Stand Up for Service, Campaign Kickoff Event and Solidarity Walk at AFSA HQ 92101 E Street, NW, Washington D.C. to raise awareness about the ongoing, systemic efforts to weaken the Foreign Service, dismantle our institutions, and make clear what’s at stake. Sign up here.
Action Network is organizing Tesla Takedown protests every week. Find a protest near you here.
The Big List of Protest will help you find a rally near you.

The SAVE Act, A GOP-backed bill would make voter registration significantly more difficult for married women, transgender individuals, seniors, people with disabilities, and minorities. The legislation is aimed at addressing the largely unsubstantiated issue of non-citizen voting. While the bill has already passed in the House, it could still be blocked in the Senate if Democratic members remain united.
Common Cause will be hosting phone banks every Tuesday and Thursday, 6–8 PM ET, to call swing state voters and encourage them to urge their legislators to oppose this bill. Volunteers will have the opportunity to patch voters directly through to their lawmakers, allowing them to express their outrage and advocate against the legislation. Training will be provided at the start of each shift. Sign up here.
