In this newsletter, you’ll find action steps to take so you can resist the Trump administration’s unlawful actions against our government and help protect our democracy.

Rallies

1. On June 14, join the NO KINGS mass protest nationwide organized by Indivisible. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they have cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies. Please invite three friends to come with you. You’ll be surprised by how many people would go to this rally (because they don’t agree with the Trump regime’s actions) but may need a gentle push. 2. Act now for trans rights by joining the Rally for Transgender Unity: D.C., June 15, 9:30 AM–2:30 PM ET, at the Capitol Reflecting Pool, Washington, D.C. This event is hosted by Trans Unity Coalition. To sign up for the rally and for more information on other events, click here.

3. In honor of John Lewis, there will be a John Lewis Day of Action on July 17. 1. Join a Silver Spring Progressive Action Zoom event on Monday, June 16,

7. Join Climate Interactive for the Enroads Climate Ambassador Camp training class. 9. Indivisible will be hosting an event, Solidarity in Action: Training for Systemic Change and Allyship Series Kick-off With Heather McGhee, June 24, 4 PM ET. Heather McGee is an expert on economic and social policy and is the bestselling author of The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together. The kickoff call will focus on the foundation we need to be in solidarity with each other, an understanding of the current authoritarian climate, and a discussion on why solidarity is necessary right now. 10. Fight Back With Friends is a monthly call to action with Indivisible. Please join this national program designed to help you activate your community! They will train you to use their Empower app and equip you with tools to connect with friends, family, and neighbors who need YOUR voice to get civically engaged. Contact Congress

1. The Reconciliation bill that Trump dubbed as “the big beautiful bill” — which is really a big, bad, ugly bill that will hurt millions of Americans —passed in the Republican House. It cuts over $7 billion from Medicaid which means it will be harder to get the health care coverage that millions of Americans need; hospitals will be in danger of closing (especially in rural areas); and seniors will get kicked out of their senior living facilities — where will they live? It will also cut $5 billion from Medicare after Republicans told us they wouldn’t touch it. The bill also cuts food assistance for 11 million people including four million children. Kids and seniors will starve. All this to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, while Americans will be left struggling. The bill is unconscionable. Now it is in the Senate. Please contact your Republican senators and demand they vote NO on this bill:

2. Call your senators and demand they vote no on the GENIUS Act, a crypto bill that wouldn’t do anything to regulate cryptocurrency and still allow Trump to keep profiting from his crypto investments. Now, the GOP has added a line into the bill requiring bankrupt banks to prioritize stablecoin owners over depositors. The provision would allow banks to take money from your savings account and use it to pay these investors. For more info about the bill and to contact your senators, click here.

3. Save the Fair Housing Initiatives Program. The Fair Housing Initiatives Program (FHIP) is a United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program created in 1987 to support people facing housing discrimination, educate about the nation’s fair housing laws, and cure the harmful effects of housing discrimination. Trump has terminated 78 grants to local fair housing organizations and the next budget will eliminate the program entirely. Phone Banking, Canvassing, Texting, and Postcard Writing

1. Every Wednesday and Thursday in June from 11 AM–12:30 PM ET, join Indivisible for a phonebank where we’ll be calling voters and connecting them directly to their senators. Together, we’ll urge Republicans to oppose the Trump Tax Scam — a reckless GOP tax plan that prioritizes billionaires like Elon Musk while selling out working families. Sign up here.

2. Please join a virtual phone bank for Democrats to call North Carolina voters on various dates. It’s an opportunity to build power for the Democrats so we can flip North Carolina blue! Sign up here.

3. Canvass for Democrats and talk with voters in North Carolina in various counties. This is also a great opportunity to help flip North Carolina blue!

4. The SAVE Act, A GOP-backed bill would make voter registration significantly more difficult for married women, transgender individuals, seniors, people with disabilities, and minorities. The legislation is aimed at addressing the largely unsubstantiated issue of noncitizen voting. While the bill has already passed in the House, it could still be blocked in the Senate if Democratic members remain united.
   
   Common Cause will be hosting phone banks every Tuesday and Thursday either from 5:30–7:30 PM ET or from 6–8 PM ET to call swing state voters and encourage them to urge their legislators to oppose this bill. Volunteers will have the opportunity to patch voters directly through to their lawmakers, allowing them to express their outrage and advocate against the legislation. 5. Grassroots Democrats, in partnership with the California Democrats, Team Pelosi, and the Los Angeles Democratic Party, are hosting a #HandsOff our Health Care Phonebank on Thursdays. Fifteen million Californians and 72 million Americans rely on Medicaid to get the care they need. They are mobilizing constituents in three battleground districts to fight against the Republicans who are attacking our health care. Please sign up here to join.

6. Join Black Voters Matter on Zoom at 6 PM ET every week on Tuesdays as they gather to drive change through digital organizing. Their texting campaigns will give you the opportunity to engage residents across the U.S. while empowering them to make a positive impact in their communities. 7. Join Third Act and Activate America to write postcards! Write postcards to voters and help safeguard our democracy, win elections, build voter enthusiasm, and turnout to elect progressives and climate champions!
