Welcome to our May 3 edition!
“These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.” — JB Pritzker
You are invited to join DemCast for a special briefing: Fighting for Democracy
You don’t want to miss this conversation with one of your all-time favorites, State Senator Mallory McMorrow!
Monday, May 5, 7 PM ET
Joe Katz at Rogan’s List shared next steps for May Day.
"An inspiring May Day in the streets on Thursday! Even with it being a week day, hundreds of thousands of people stood with us, and we organized protests in countless places for the first time during Trump 2.0. And this push isn’t even done yet — we have almost 250 more rallies, demonstrations and visibilities scheduled for today!
As always, now we start building on what we achieved. Aside from joining another May Day protest near us this weekend if there’s one nearby, we can sign up for a virtual mass meeting on Thursday, May 8, at 8 PM ET to debrief and talk about what the May Day Strong coalition will do next here.”
Volunteer Blue, Demcast, and 40-plus partners invite you to:

Overpass rallies:
Let’s do this everywhere!
INDIVISIBLE SF wrote a blog post: Bracing for impacts from Trump Tariffs.
“The Trump Tariffs are already causing damage, with as shipments in American ports beginning to dry up. This will cause higher costs and scarcer goods, with ripple effects comparable to the early-pandemic supply chain shocks of 2020.”
How to protect yourself and push back against Trump’s illegal tariffs?
Deepak at Democracy Labs sent JB Pritzker’s fiery rallying cry for mass protests and mobilization (in New Hampshire!).
“‘It’s time to fight everywhere and all at once,’ he told the group of Democratic activists, officials and donors, who jumped to their feet with hoots and applause. ‘Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption. But I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace. The reckoning is finally here,’ he declared." - NY Times

Bonus action from Rogan’s List:
Tell Congress to Protect our Children!
“It just keeps happening. A two-year-old American citizen banished to Honduras while her father frantically tried to get her back. One-year-old and five-year-old American citizens detained because their mom made a wrong turn. Not one but two American children with cancer kicked out of the country. That adult citizens keep getting caught in the gears of Trump’s deportation machine is bad enough, but it’s especially heinous that we are putting kids through this – and ominous that not even they are getting due process.”
Let’s reach out to our members of Congress and ask them a very simple question: what are they doing to protect American citizen children from being abducted and removed by ICE?
