While the British monarchy rolls out the royal red carpet for Donald Trump’s second state visit, real democracy is playing out in the streets, not the gilded halls of Windsor Castle. Today, the rebuke is unmistakable. Thousands of ordinary people surged into central London and crowded the gates of Windsor - not for a glimpse of an American president, but to deliver a message he can’t tweet away: Hate isn’t welcome here.

Organized by an energized Stop Trump Coalition, trade unions, solidarity networks, and grassroots groups have joined forces in a spectacular display of people power. The chants are as defiant as they are honest - “No to racism, no to Trump,” “Dump Trump,” and “Democracy dies while Trump lies!” Iconic orange-baby blimps rise above the throng, a satirical reminder that this is a leader who inspires ridicule, not respect.
And as the monarchy tries to cocoon a discredited president in pageantry, activists break through those walls too: projecting Trump's face, side by side with Epstein’s, right onto Windsor's storied stone, exposing hypocrisy in the public square.
The British resistance makes something gloriously clear: democracy’s heart beats in protest, not in palaces. For every sanitized handshake and choreographed dinner, there’s a sea of ordinary Britons refusing to let the arc of history bend toward tyranny.
