Free Kilmar Abrego Garcia: Rebellion Is Our Duty
The attack on Kilmar Abrego Garcia shows deportation has become a weapon of authoritarian power, and our duty is clear: resist with everything we have.
They Snatched Him in Broad Daylight
Monday morning, shortly after reporting to ICE’s Baltimore office, while the world went about its routine, ICE agents handcuffed Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Three days. That is how long this father, union construction worker, and democracy advocate had with his family after his release from federal custody. Three days before Trump’s deportation machine swallowed him whole again.
This is not immigration enforcement; it is state terror against anyone who dares resist.
Supreme Court Said, “Bring Him Back.” Trump Said, “Make Him Suffer.”
In March, the U.S. government illegally deported Garcia to El Salvador’s CECOT mega-prison, infamous for torture and human rights abuses, despite a 2019 court order protecting him.
When the Supreme Court unanimously ordered Garcia’s return, did Trump’s officials admit fault? Hell no. The moment he set foot back on U.S. soil, they slapped him with baseless smuggling charges to punish his defiance.
Extortion in the Name of Law
Garcia’s attorneys say the administration offered him a choice: plead guilty to crimes he did not commit and be exiled to Costa Rica, or refuse and face deportation to Uganda, where he has no ties and would face mortal danger.
That is extortion with a federal seal.
“They are weaponizing the immigration system in a manner that is entirely unconstitutional,” said attorney Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg. He is right. Deportation has become a weapon of political retaliation, a tool to silence anyone who resists authoritarian power.
The Toll of Cruelty
While Trump officials play games with a man’s life, Garcia’s three children, two with autism, one with epilepsy, suffer. His youngest searches his father’s clothes just to smell him. His daughter carries emergency seizure medication triggered by the stress of his absence.
His wife, Jennifer, now left alone, pleaded:
“Call your legislators to bring awareness to my husband’s case and demand they do everything they can to bring Kilmar home and protect all immigrant families, who too can be abducted in the blink of an eye, like my husband was.”
Your Rights Are on the Line
Garcia’s case is not just about immigration. It is about whether this nation still has laws that bind the powerful. If the government can seize people, defy court orders, and coerce confessions through exile, no one’s rights are safe.
The Trump administration is betting you will shrug and move on. Betting you will think this is someone else’s problem. Betting wrong
Defiance Is Survival
Democracy doesn’t die all at once. It dies in small surrenders, each trampling of rights without consequence.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is the canary in the coal mine. If we cannot defend him, who is next? The neighbor who speaks out? The union organizer? The voting rights advocate?
The time for polite resistance is over. Trump’s people are using every weapon of state power to crush dissent. We must answer with relentless, organized pressure that makes authoritarianism unsustainable.
Garcia told supporters this morning: “Promise me that you will keep praying, keep fighting, and resist… not for me but for everyone.”
That is our charge. The government abducted one man today. Tomorrow, they will abduct democracy itself—unless we stop them.
The choice is ours. The time is now.
Rise Up and Fight Back
The Trump machine wants to erase Kilmar quietly, to bleed his family dry, and to make us all too scared to resist. They are counting on silence. We answer with thunder.
💥 Flood them with outrage. Call your senators, your representatives, your governors. Demand investigations. Make it impossible for them to look away.
💥 Fuel the fight. Donate to his legal defense by clicking the image below. Every dollar is a weapon against authoritarian cruelty.
💥 Take the streets, take the feeds. Share Kilmar’s story with #FreeKilmar until it drowns out their lies. Show up at rallies. Show up in protest. Show up everywhere they want us absent.
💥 Stand with the fighters. Call CASA at 1-866-765-2272. Back the Legal Aid Justice Center. Support Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg’s team at 703-720-5605. They are holding the line, but they cannot do it alone.
This is not charity. It is resistance. It is rebellion. When they come for one of us, they come for all of us.
Authoritarians only win when we surrender. Today, we draw the line. Today we fight like hell.
I wish this was unbelievable.
He deserves an apology and retribution! Instead they do this to him AND to his family. The GOP needs to admit they don't care about families or children at all.
