The Power of Postcarding
Have you ever found yourself jumping online to “see what’s going on” only to log out hours later in the grips of a panic attack? Or checked your social media before going to bed and scrolled until the wee hours, too angry to even attempt sleep? It’s called doomscrolling — and it’s not good for anything other than making money for billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
But there is an antidote for doomscrolling: postcarding. Writing postcards to boost voter turnout is one of the easiest actions to take. Study after study shows that postcards drive people to the polls (see Center for Common Ground, Sister District, and Postcard Turnout Project). A recent meta-analysis of campaigns, conducted by voter-mobilization pioneers Donald Green and Alan Gerber, found that handwritten postcards turn out 1 vote for every 71 postcards sent. In other words, postcards are about THREE TIMES AS EFFECTIVE as conventional nonpartisan GOTV mail.
Postcarding is simple, easy and flexible. Activists decide when, what kind, and how many postcards to write, while the postcard campaigns provide voter lists and messaging, and often postcards. So write from home… or join a postcard party. Get colorful with markers … or don’t. Decorate with an American flag sticker… or don’t. Just postcard to get our message out: “Vote!”

I just finished writing 200 postcards for PA to retain the 3 state Supreme Court justices 👍🏼 to be mailed late October. It went faster than expected.
I really like this idea and would be great to send out to all states and voters. Include a quote of one of trump's outrageous lies with a note to get out and vote. How can we get this started and get names and addresses of voters in our respective state?
