Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, RFK Jr., Pam Bondi and Pete Hegseth are some of the worst and most dangerous nominees ever put out there.

Our friends at the Not Above the Law Coalition (DemCast is a key member of the coalition’s comms team) put together some framing do’s and don’ts, as well as talking points by nominee:
Talking Points by Nominee:
Kash Patel
Talking Point #1: “Patel lacks the judgment and temperament needed for leadership.”
Advocated shutting down the FBI headquarters and converting it into a "Museum of the Deep State."
Promotes extreme ideas that could undermine institutional integrity and public trust.
Talking Point #2: “Patel is motivated by political revenge, not delivering justice.”
Authored a book naming an "enemies list," signaling a focus on personal and political vendettas.
Publicly threatened media figures and political opponents of Donald Trump with jail time, undermining Democracy and chilling free speech.
Talking Point #3: “Patel promotes nonsensical ideas of government, not Democracy.”
Wrote a book portraying Trump as a king and himself as a wizard, reflecting authoritarian and self-aggrandizing tendencies.
Talking Point #4: “Patel is an election denier who undermines our democratic processes.”
Denied the results of the 2020 presidential election, perpetuating baseless claims of voter fraud and undermining confidence in electoral processes.
Talking Point #5: “Patel seeks to divide the American people instead of unite them.”
Advocates rhetoric and policies that foster division rather than constructive dialogue or solutions.
Pete Hegseth
Talking Point #1: “Hegseth has a history of offensive and dangerous conduct.”
Hegseth has faced accusations of sexual assault, including a high-profile case in Monterey, California, from 2017.
Even his own mother has called into question his character and treatment of women.
Talking Point #2: “Hegseth lacks the judgment needed to lead.”
There have been multiple reports of Hegseth's problematic alcohol use, including from staff at FOX News. He was pushed out of two veterans' advocacy organizations amid allegations of mismanagement and personal misconduct. Such behavior raises serious questions about his judgment and vulnerability to our nation’s adversaries.
Talking Point #3: “Hegseth promotes Christian Nationalist Views that have no place in our government.”
Hegseth has tattooed himself with symbols like the Jerusalem Cross and the phrase "Deus Vult," which are known for their association with Christian nationalism and historical militarism. His views could marginalize non-Christian or non-Western groups within the military and color his approach to American defense policy.
Talking Point #4: “Hegseth lacks any relevant experience.”
Hosting a morning TV show (Hegseth’s background) does not prepare someone to manage the Department of Defense, the world's largest bureaucracy, which requires extensive organizational and leadership experience.
Talking Point #5: “Hegseth’s extreme views will weaken our military.”
Hegseth has opposed women serving in combat roles and supports court-martialing military leaders who followed policies he disagrees with, reflecting views that could disrupt the morale, cohesion and readiness of the US armed forces.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Talking Point #1: “RFK Jr. spreads misinformation about vaccines.”
Despite being debunked, RFK Jr. has made repeated claims that vaccines cause autism and other health issues.
His rhetoric has fueled the anti-vaccine movement.
Talking Point #2: “RFK Jr. causes distrust between the American people and public health institutions."
RFK Jr. consistently attacks institutions Americans rely on for health information, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA). When he erodes public confidence in these agencies, public health suffers.
Talking Point #3: “RKF Jr. cares more about promoting conspiracy theories than your health.”
RFK Jr. keeps company with conspiracy theorists and extremists who opposed science-backed measures to keep us safe during the COVID-19 Pandemic. He is more aligned with these groups than scientists.
Talking Point #4: “RFK Jr. doesn’t care about scientific evidence and can’t be trusted to lead HHS.”
RFK Jr. has a long record of promoting pseudoscience and opposing proven health solutions and schools of thought. He can’t be trusted to lead the HHS, which relies on programs grounded in science and research.
Talking Point #5: “With RFK Jr. as the head of HHS, American lives will be at risk.”
RFK Jr. has a history of promoting policies that are not rooted in science.
To protect our public health, he should not be allowed to serve as Head of HHS. Doing so will put American lives at risk.
Tulsi Gabbard
Talking Point #1: “Gabbard is a weak leader who cozies up to enemy dictators.”
She has repeated Russian propaganda regarding Ukraine and regularly shares stories from RT, a known propaganda outlet.
She met with Syria’s Assad and refused to call him an enemy of the U.S.
Talking Point #2: “By taking the side of Russia and Syria, Gabbard throws Americans under the bus, making us all less safe and more vulnerable to foreign enemies.”
Veterans and former national security officials have called Gabbard a “dangerous” choice.
Talking Point #3: “Gabbard is a MAGA loyalist who will use her position to help Trump, not keep Americans safe.”
Gabbard has a history of changing her views on foreign policy after becoming closer to people in power, including Putin and Trump.
