Indivisible Ventura shared these ideas for protecting the hardworking members of our communities who are undocumented:
”One important action is to help spread transparency and truth.”
Become a reliable reporter: Learn how to record ICE actions with this short video from the ACLU. https://www.instagram.com/sonlalucha/reel/DFNj6kaRiEc/
Videos and written descriptions by observers can become important legal evidence of abuse of authority, as is this video of ICE stopping a US citizen and slashing his tires.ACLU has other great videos on what happens when ICE stops someone or knocks on a door.

The SAVE Act is a voter suppression bill.
The bill requires voters to provide documentary proof of citizenship at the time of registration, but citizenship is hard to prove. Experience with a similar bill in Arizona has shown that American citizens end up being blocked from voting.
Citizenship is already a requirement to vote.
Nearly 21 million voting-age US citizens do not have a current driver’s license.
Another 28.6 million have a license, but it does not have both their current address & current name.
Tell your Congressperson to vote “NO” on the SAVE Act.

Rogan’s List is alerting us to an online harassment campaign against Black federal workers.
Commentators including Elie Mystal flagged from the beginning that the Trump-Musk agenda of purging DEIA employees from the federal government was going to mean pushing anyone who looked like “they might be” DEIA (Black people, women, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities and others from marginalized groups) out of civil service work.
Having been stymied by lawsuits, skepticism about buyout offers, and resistance from patriotic public servants, right wingers are turning to an old favorite tactic: harassment. A website called the “DEI Watch List” has published the photos, names, and public information on multiple workers from health agencies, describing them as “targets” who committed “DEI offenses.” The workers are mainly Black employees of the Department of Health and Human Services.
One simple action we can take is spamming this tip line on their website. Let’s do our part by creating burner email accounts using Proton and joining in sending them fake reports, memes, or any creative content you can think of.
Deepak at Democracy Labs wrote about Elon Musk's access to the US Treasury system through DOGE, raising concerns about Social Security funds.
Musk's influence over government departments and payment systems, combined with his ties to Saudi Arabia and the Trump family, has led to accusations of a "coup" and fears about the misuse of power.
Contact your senators and demand they protect Social Security from "Musk-rats."

Subject Line: Civil Liberties Complaint
Hello,
I am making a civil liberties complaint under the Privacy Act of 1974, 5 U.S.C. § 552a. It has been brought to my attention that Elon Musk and his associates, under the guise of a directive of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) (an IT office in the White House), have acquired access to Treasury Department Records in Systems of Records as defined in the Act. As an individual covered by the Act, I believe that there may be records about me in these Treasury Department systems, and I am concerned for the following reasons:
Elon Musk is not an elected official.
Even if Musk were an elected official, the System of Records Notices (SORNs) governing the Treasury Department Privacy Act systems do not allow for disclosure to Musk and his associates per the Routine Uses.
Disclosure of personally identifiable information (PII) and sensitive personally identifiable information (SPII) to Musk and his associates would be an unauthorized disclosure and therefore breach of information.
The Treasury Department must (1) quickly investigate what Privacy Act records that Musk and his associates have unlawfully accessed, (2) reveal to the public what unauthorized disclosures were made, (3) stop further access, (4) force any files acquired by Musk and his associates to be returned and/or permanently destroyed, and (5) seek criminal penalties against Musk and his associates for violations of the Act.
Sincerely,
[insert your name & contact information]

Want to protest but hate calling your "lawmakers?" Remember sit-ins? As a senior, I can't march very far, but I can sit all day. My protest is to sit at my State Capitol. Maybe bring an adult beverage and a portable chair. All I need is the start date. Are we going to do this on Wednesdays? Sundays? Gimme a start.
