The Digital Drumbeat Partner Newsletter
A newsletter full of opportunities for engagement and national calls to action from our partner organizations around the country.
Welcome to the February 22 edition of our partner newsletter! Here you will find a weekly roundup of ways to resist the Trump administration and fight for democracy from grassroots groups across the movement.
Lean Left Vermont always generously supports other states. They have jumped in to help with Susan Crawford’s Supreme Court race in Wisconsin on April 1, and have sent along information for us to get involved.
Sign up here to write postcards with Activate America. They’ll provide scripts, instructions, and lists of names and addresses; you'll provide the postcards and stamps.

Sue at Rogan’s List shared that Trump backed the House GOP budget over the Senate’s which would require as much as $880 billion in Medicaid cuts.
“The proposal would also cut $230 billion from food stamps, add $110 billion in new funding to the deportation machine and give us a trillion-dollar defense budget – all to pay for a $4.5 trillion tax giveaway that will mainly benefit the billionaires and big corporations.
Let’s reach out to our members of Congress and tell them we say hell no.”

Indivisible YOLO is inviting us to attend a Commit to Democracy Virtual Town Hall.
“Renowned historian, Heather Cox Richardson and influential democratic strategist, Simon Rosenberg are teaming up for a virtual CTD Town Hall in March. CTD is honored to host these two incredible political leaders and influencers at our virtual Town Hall. Our honored guests will hold a discussion on how we can best build an effective opposition party.”
RSVP: Commit to Democracy Virtual Town Hall, Wednesday, March 5, 1 p.m. EST.
Indivisible FL-13 spells out Trump’s tax plan; if you make less than $360,000 a year, your taxes are going up.
”Trump is giving his billionaire friends even bigger tax breaks and forcing working people and seniors to pay for it! Now Elon Musk wants to CUT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS from programs OUR COMMUNITIES NEED in order to keep more money in his OWN POCKET. No one voted for Elon Musk to run our country and control our lives!”
Contact your representatives. Call, email, or write to your members of Congress and urge them to oppose tax policies that benefit billionaires and large corporations at the expense of working families, seniors, and vital public programs.
The WCDP News in Michigan sent us some words of encouragement about how to keep showing up.
“During this Black History Month, take a lesson: civil rights and democracy itself were built by people who were in it for the long game. To stay in it, we've got to channel our outrage into action. Here are some tips to stay engaged when it's tough to do so:
Focus on the work: what’s one thing you can actually do?
Think beyond the moment. Urgency isn’t the same as impact.
Protect your energy, but stay in the fight.
Measure in years, not minutes.
Join up with like-minded souls, for strength and well-being.
Breathe.
You are not alone, but we have to show up to be heard!”
Indivisible SF is urging us to contact our representatives and tell them to end the attacks on sanctuary cities.
“H.R.32 is a bill that makes sanctuary cities ineligible for federal funds. Its loose interpretation of the idea of a sanctuary city will allow the federal government to defund critical community programs practically at will. If enacted, this bill would create chaos and functionally blackmail our cities and states into aiding Trump's cruel plans for mass deportations—or lose funding for our schools, hospitals, transportation, and even housing.”
The Media and Democracy Project highlights attacks on the free press and provides actions to take to support pro-democracy media.
Worried about the state of journalism, the loss of local news, and its impact on our democracy? You're not alone. Join us for a Zoom screening of Stripped for Parts: American Journalism on the Brink with a Q&A to learn about actions you can take to fight for local journalism.
Register to join Zoom screening: Stripped for Parts: American Journalism on the Brink, Saturday, March 29, 8 p.m. EST.

Contact your representatives and tell them to stop Trump's attack on the U.S.P.S.
Indivisible Westchester in New York shared an easy-to-use action kit from the League of Women Voters to oppose the SAVE Act, a voter suppression bill that is up for a vote this month.
“This bill imposes onerous ID standards that target many female, poor, and legal immigrant voters, increasing the burden of proving citizenship to deter voter registration. LWVUS opposes this legislation as unnecessary, divisive, and likely to have a disparate impact on citizens of color and married women whose surnames do not match their birth certificates.”
Use this Action Kit to send an email.
Call your members of Congress and tell them to oppose the SAVE Act, H.R. 22.
The Missouri Democrats are asking us to sign their petition demanding that all branches of government respect the authority of the judiciary.
In light of VP JD Vance’s recent remarks suggesting that judges have no jurisdiction over the executive branch’s “legitimate power,” we need to send a clear message that Democrats will not tolerate any attempt to undermine the rule of law.
Editor’s note: It’s OK to sign petitions even if you are unable to make a donation at this time.
Thanks for reading!
If your organization would like to submit something for us to publish in our weekly newsletter, please email: content@demcastusa.
To the publishers.... please provide some insight about the efficacy of petitions. I and others I know have come to feel that many petition efforts are never presented to the people in power, and only serve to build mailing lists. Would love to get some inside understanding of how to know when a petition is meaningful, or just plain old marketing.
Trump and Musk's secret betrayal of red state voters is happening right under our noses—while the GOP cheers them on. The Democrats have a window to act, but only if they seize this moment. I wrote shows how the Democrats can finally turn the tide before it’s too late.
I would love to hear your thoughts.
