Why We Need to Pressure Congress

On January 7, an ICE agent shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis during a massive federal enforcement operation. It wasn’t an isolated incident—it was the predictable result of an immigration enforcement system operating with too little oversight, too much force, and almost no accountability.

When federal agents can detain U.S. citizens, ignore proof of citizenship, operate masked and unidentified, and use lethal force with minimal review, constitutional rights aren’t just at risk for immigrants. They’re at risk for everyone.
