They don’t know- normal people don’t watch NPR or read the NYT. We need channels to get normal relevant information in front of them when they have time to listen
It occurred to me today that far too many republicans base their entire careers on hate and lies and greed. How is it possible that almost half of America supports that? All of their evangelical supporters? Traditional Christian values?
Why hasn’t the Democratic Party been able to shine a bright light on that for them?
Dem here with my two cents - the party is rightfully perceived as elitist. Party leaders, as well as other Dems talk about working class people like they're all stupid. They are talked down to, are condescended to and seen as "lesser than" because they don't have college degree and read the New York Times. They're put down because they're worried about the cost of living, their jobs and the future. D's spend a lot of time looking down their noses at people and not taking their concerns seriously. They're mocked for shopping at Wal-mart because it's affordable. Saw a comment on social media "I'm glad we don't have that trash store in NYC" - talk about your privilege showing! Another comment I saw: "I must spend more time with the working class, I'm out of touch with them" - Yeah the whole party needs to come out of their elistist bubble and see what the rest of us are coping with.
trump is a traitor, liar, grifter who loathes his followers, but I can see why he appeals to many, like the author said, he seems real to them.
I guess they prefer a friendly effusive liar who will deprive them of theirs rights and impoverish them
How generous

Hopefully the will speak up more and challenge the intolerant ones. I take your point. Good nudge.

How about an effort to communicate that not all Christians are Evangelical Christians and lots of them support Democratic Party values?

Well said.
These were awesome. Can you start preparing some for Medicaid cuts (nursing home benefits) and raising the retirement age?
