I have friends who just moved to NC, living in the hills just south of Asheville! They are saying the same! Of course there is surreal devastation, but the help arrived fast and set up kitchens, delivered water immediately and are helping as fast as they can!

I live near Asheville, and the impact of this storm has been devastating to many. I’m one of the lucky ones who only suffered some minor inconveniences - power outages, water advisories, minor wind damage. I have friends, however, who have basically lost everything - their houses, vehicles, and all their personal possessions.

I can say from first hand experience, however, that there has been a tremendous, and IMMEDIATE, response to this event. Churches, relief organizations, FEMA, state emergency personnel, individuals, ….. and the list goes on and on, have joined forces and worked together to help provide for those in dire need.

It has been awesome, actually, to see such collaboration and cooperation. And it is literally appalling to think that anyone would try to make political hay by injecting falsehoods and confusion into such a difficult situation for so many.

I appreciate the effort here to set the record straight about the response to this disaster.

I'm hearing the lies from someone in Tennessee. Anything from the Tennessee governor to counter with? I don't want to deny anyone's experience, but I do want them to know there os help available.
