How We Can Beat Republicans At Their Own Game
We need to take the Courts & here's how YOU can help!
We’re all still riding the high of watching Kamala Harris demolish Donald Trump in that debate on Tuesday. It’s incomprehensible to most of us that a man who babbles about eating cats and melts down on such a big stage can still be polling roughly even.
But here we are.
Hopefully, with our hard work, VP Harris will succeed President Biden in the White House in January.
Even if Trump loses, though, the MAGA movement will persist:
Republicans played the long game for decades and have taken firm control of many state legislatures across the country.
They consistently turn out every election, taking important down-ballot seats across the country.
Perhaps most importantly, Trump installed anti-democracy, anti-freedom ideologues in all Federal Courts, including the Supreme Court.
The good news: we can beat Republicans at their own game.
While we push hard to elect VP Harris and throw Trump into the dustbin of history, we need to ensure that our democracy’s infrastructure stays intact and is even strengthened.
One important way to do that is to elect pro-democracy, pro-freedom candidates to crucial judicial seats on State Supreme Courts.
See, unlike Federal Supreme Court justices, who are appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate, many state-level Supreme Court judges are elected by voters in state-wide elections.
And these seats are crucial. These judges will be ruling on everything from Trump’s inevitable challenges of election results to the legality of authoritarian state-based abortion laws that impact tens of millions of women.
OK, So What Can I Do To Help Elect Pro-Democracy Judges?
We’ve got you covered.
In collaboration with the AMAZING team at Oath, we’ve put together a slate of State Supreme Court candidates that you can donate to.
In races like these, your dollars go farther, because they tend to be underfunded. An influx of resources at this moment in the cycle could be a tipping point for these contests.
And by donating through Oath - which is now DemCast’s official partner and preferred donation portal - 100% of your money goes to the candidates’ campaigns. Oath doesn’t profit off of your transaction unless you intentionally tip them (which is wonderful to do but not required). Oath also doesn’t sell your information to other organizations or campaigns (DemCast has the same policy). This is why we recommend donating through Oath instead of ActBlue where possible.
So please consider supporting these candidates today! And share this post with friends who might be asking: “Where can I donate right now to have the biggest impact for our democracy?”
Here’s the answer!
(If you’re curious about learning how Oath works, check out this video recording of our 9/9/24 Democracy Briefing with the Oath team!)

THANK YOU, DEMOCRACY WARRIORS!
How does Act Blue use the money that's donated? I ask because I donate through them every month. If all of my money is not going to the candidates, I want to know.
The courts are democracy's Achilles Heel. They're vital to our survival but get little attention. We can work to fix that!
