The Digital Drumbeat Partner Newsletter
A newsletter full of opportunities for engagement and national calls to action from our partner organizations around the country.
Welcome to the first edition of our partner newsletter! Here you will find a weekly roundup of ways to resist the Trump administration and fight for democracy from grassroots groups across the movement.
The biggest recurring theme this week is to help your local organizations with their efforts to protect immigrants from ICE.
Up first: Sue at Rogan’s List discusses protecting voting rights and opposing the “SAVE” Act.
The Brennan Center for Justice is warning us about a GOP voter-suppression bill introduced into Congress. The so-called SAVE Act would require every American to produce citizenship papers whenever registering or re-registering to vote. This could disenfranchise the more than 21 million US citizens who don’t have citizenship papers.
Let’s read the Brennan Center’s report on the SAVE Act, and let’s tell our Members of Congress not to sponsor H.R. 22 (the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) or the companion bill filed by Sen. Mike Lee, and to vote against it should it come to the floor. We can use this language from Jessica Craven to make our voices heard.
From Deepak at the Democracy Labs Bulletin: Stop Big Pharma Greed that’s killing Americans. Call your Republican reps. Shouldn’t they care more for their voters than their Big Pharma donors?

Congress seems intent on passing bills that will require many more workers to implement, all while the Turnip Administration is laying off people who might be needed to carry out these ambitious plans. I worked for the Welfare Department in California just after Reagan was elected governor. He put a freeze on hiring just as the federal food stamp program was opening up. I was moved from social work to eligibility in the food stamp department. I was doing 10 new interviews a day and had a caseload of 350 households that needed to be visited in person to ensure that their food was kept separate from roommates. The pressure was unbelievable. I had to quit after a year to protect my health. Turnip is doing the same thing, but on a national scale. I weep for our federal workforce!
Thank you!
