Push/Pull! Located in Seattle, Washington, Push/Pull describes itself as, “hard to describe but easy to love. We're an art gallery, supply store, learning center, studio space, and so much more. Proudly independent, our mission is to promote underground art and foster community.” They offer community support for sign making and mutual aid, community aid and political action.

Definitely support small businesses when you can! Perhaps someone closer could suggest a free service at these democratic shops to switch their phones to a non-US operating system. Internet is important to have for true news, but not the auto spyware... it will also hit Google/Apple in the pocketbook (where it hurts the most). Change over yours, your neighbors', gather people to go around and do this for others.
One solution: LineageOS is generally regarded as the most compatible and functional non‑US‑owned Android replacement.
Why it stands out
Broad device coverage – LineageOS supports hundreds of phone models from many manufacturers, often receiving updates long after the OEM stops official support.
Stability & security – It’s built on the official Android Open Source Project (AOSP) with regular security patches and a mature development process.
Flexibility – Users can install Google Play Services separately (via MicroG) or run a completely Google‑free setup, letting you choose the balance between functionality and privacy.
Active community – A large, global contributor base provides timely bug fixes, custom ROM builds, and extensive documentation.
While other options like /e/ OS, Ubuntu Touch, or Huawei’s Harmony OS have niche strengths (privacy‑focused defaults, Linux‑based UI, or deep integration with specific hardware), they typically have narrower device support or less frequent updates. For most users seeking a drop‑in Android experience with maximum compatibility across devices, LineageOS is the leading choice. Check out website for compatible phones and get one if you need to.
